It’s not really random.

Firefox uses the I’m Feeling Lucky feature of Google when what you’ve entered in the address bar is not an address. Personally, I hate that. I’ve made mine use the regular search feature instead. (about:config > keyword.URL to
http://www.google.com/search?q=) Now I don’t have to have a separate search bar. Of course, there are downsides. My search term can’t have periods, colons, etc. Oh, and I can’t switch search engines easily, not that I would do that anyway.
I love finding these features. There’s always something new! Have you tried middle-clicking your back and forward buttons? A lot of people don’t know about that. Mozilla.org should have made the reload button do that as well. You can middle-click bookmarks. That’s really handy.

I know there are more things I have to share, but I can’t think of them at the moment!
EDIT: I forgot about the very famous about:* pages! I’ve already mentioned about:config. There are more.
