Interesting firefox easter egg

This is kind of interesting. Take random text (like maybe 5 words) and drag it in the address bar.

You will get a random website having to do with those words.

It’s not really random. :) Firefox uses the I’m Feeling Lucky feature of Google when what you’ve entered in the address bar is not an address. Personally, I hate that. I’ve made mine use the regular search feature instead. (about:config > keyword.URL to http://www.google.com/search?q=) Now I don’t have to have a separate search bar. Of course, there are downsides. My search term can’t have periods, colons, etc. Oh, and I can’t switch search engines easily, not that I would do that anyway. :P

I love finding these features. There’s always something new! Have you tried middle-clicking your back and forward buttons? A lot of people don’t know about that. Mozilla.org should have made the reload button do that as well. You can middle-click bookmarks. That’s really handy. :) I know there are more things I have to share, but I can’t think of them at the moment! :dosgonebad:

EDIT: I forgot about the very famous about:* pages! I’ve already mentioned about:config. There are more. <_>

about:mozilla in IE is pretty interesting. MS is implying that firefox will make you get a BSOD. :D

Never knew about the middle click feature.

Actually in normal mozilla I used tolike the CTRL Enter feature in the address bar (open url in new tab) is there a way to do that in firefox?

Tak, are you talking about middle clicking on a link to open it in a new tab?

If so, that's a huge advantage to why I use firefox, especially browsing Deviantart, I have about 20 tabs open, and it's lovely.

Yes I use that allot, and you'll notice it comes in handy in the cybervillage too. It's designed for firefox. (accidentally, since I did not realize it would not work in Opera)

I love Firefox, I never knew about the easteregg. But I knew that it happend, it get's irritation when I'm trying to type in gtawh.com, and it doesn't put the .com. Though if you just type in gtawh, it goes to the GTAWH, but that doesn't apply to all sites.

Actually my local server used to be called just "borg" so I would type in borg, and sometimes it would go to borg.com, it was really weird. Now that I figured out DNS I got borg.loc to work so I'm set for that.

No, but I absolutely love that feature! It really lets me organise things more easily. One window for forums, one window for news, etc.
