A poison flute is a bard weapon similar to a fire horn. It's quite a bit rarer though. You do damage based on your music skills just like a fire horn. This one does more damage and instead of flames it sends up clouds of poison on the area you've targetted. Also, for every creature it hits, there's a chance they will become poisoned. It uses nightshade instead of ash.

lol Squirrel, your char is probably the best melee character here.

Bah, I got overboard here. Sorry Red. Just something I'd like to point out: Explosion and MA are the most used field spells, meteor swarm doenst does 100 dmg unless if the guy has 200 eval, the max it does is 70 and thats with evil omen and 40 resists.

Explo = enables combos, its the main key for the best magery combos.
MA = unique spell someone can cast while chasing someone AND keeping up with the guy.

I think the magery thing was a good idea but the problem is like today hector ran me down in destard with a regular bow.. he had to stop to shoot me he hit me 5 times.. i was a full screen away no lie i couldnt see him and he hit me with a para blow and killed me when he ran up on his next hit. I wasnt even able to mini heal thru his hits let alone get a combo off.. but it is a very unique idea with canceling spells

A couple more problems with this update:

- pets move really slow. The speed is the same whether you say all guard or all come. all come should be much faster.

- animate dead summons do not follow you, they just stand in one place unless attacking something.

This seems to be affecting my yoshis. Yes, they respond to all kill just fine. It doesn't seem to affect my Chaos Steed...

I'll have to look into that then. I know I had to do lot of modifications to the base AI which affects all mobs, since some things were just plain weird, like if a mob is stuck, it would totally stop attacking so in the progress I probably broke stuff.

I can't seem to reproduce the all come or all follow to make a pet walk slower, even though I've seen it myself. Really weird.

I was able to reproduce the animate dead issue and I'm working on fixing it.

You might as well just turn this into a pvm server right now
Dexxer shard, not pvm shard, most the nerf i saw since beginning targeted mages. They are too powerfull apparently...

One says "most mages have necromancy now, throw in pain spike , and the other things to help" perhaps they have necro here cause mage wasnt enough anymore, most likely the reflect damage spell.
I can think of a few very simple dexxer builds that would kill without having to press a hundred buttons.

And the magery Ai on mobs, have you tested it with a tamer ? you send Aw after a target and target runs off forever deeper in middle of mob aggroing the whole dungeon, cute. Not that Aw cant handle 20 rat mages but yeah, pain. Perhaps you dont like tamers too.

I kinda like the new Ai tho dont get me wrong, its sweet on certain summons like lich and stuff, they follow right behind you its awesome, the fact that they summon stuff too is great, rev and all.

Yeah I did the champ spawn near Spirituality gate and got the Colonel Sanders spawn. Nothing like chasing Vorpal chickens 10 screens away with EV's and summoned dead stuff to try to kill them, and then being chased back by 5 more vorpal chickens that all cast MA so fast that you don't have time to even cast the simplest heal and cure spells. In wraith form I was stuck because they kept me from getting out of wraith form becasue they casted so fast, and they ran as fast as me so I couldnt get away to cast invis or anything.

Overall I like the changes, there are just some things that require new strategy. I don't think the changes are hurting PvP much. Actually, I think it is helping it, because with the chance of AoA's, douple recources and fame, champs to get PSs from and other stuff all in Fel, it brings all the PvMers there and readyfor the picking(or should I say PKing).

The chickens running away is a result of the smarter AI, if you have 0 melee skill, or wielding a bow, no use in staying close to your foe. Thats how the AI thinks.

Yeah but then you get the super fast spamming of MA... just enough to keep you from doing anything. I mean it's more an issue at champs, and like I said just takes a change of tactics. I can't use necro alone to take out an entire champ spawn.

I think that's how it should be. Does it make sense to slaughter a psudeo-daemon, or at that, the incarnation of an antivirtue? Just doesn't make sense to do that solo.

Yeah I can hardly solo semidar now, and used to be able to. Champ spawns arn't meant to be soloed though so it should take quite a lot of effort to do so.

I've been thinking of making a per creature flag on cast rate to control mob difficulty in terms of spell casting, the lower the number, the more chance it has of casting another spell right away. Currently there is a fixed chance of having a few seconds of delay with an added variating chance which increases as mana decreases. At one point I set the base chance too low, was brutal. (harder then it is now)

well thats what i mean yes it is more realistic, hence it works that way on osi, and it can easily be soloed as can any champ... put peacemaking on ur necro and ull never have problems with that.

I can see the running away thing being a real pain for tamers (Like those storm troopers that just run forever). The running away thing is neat, but they do it waaaay too much. Might consider lessening it a bit. I did like the fact that ratman archers can actually hit you now and like to skip back when they are about to get hit by a blade. As for champs, a group of imps or gargoyles with the new ai would just be brutal. Like you said, you should put in some kind of function that scans the area and finds creatures of the same type then reduces the speed at which they cast accordingly. That way the mobs aren't ultra easy when you find them sitting all alone and they also aren't ultra difficult when they are in groups.

It'd be cool if more advanced spellcasters (a group of liches, for example) used tactics like a human would. Like if there were three liches that you just ran at, one casts explosion, one casts mindblast, and one casts energy bolt.

Sometimes I think a few mobs have tactics up their sleeves. Like the time at a champ spawn where I had 7 ophidian mages after me just using magic arrows and harms. Then when all 7 got in range, 4 of them consecutively flamestriked me (You should have seen the neverending column). As I ran to go heal, one mind blast ko'd me.

Tried a random spawn yesterday in T2A with Sael/Hayden, spawned Sanders.

At last tier when vorpals came out with harpies, was trying to gather them a bit to get some Wither in there on the harpies, walked thru one harpy which lowered stamina, then came the gank, cornered me so quick i never saw it coming. About 6 vorpals farther away doing magic arrows and stuff, with a wall of harpies around me. Looked pretty cool, how it should be. Eby told me to get a weapon skill too, i dont need that i said.

"i was killed by a vorpal chicken !"

You a pure mage? For defense, you can hold a Staff of the Magi, if things are getting through your DCI.
