Make Malas set with felucca ruleset. But the towns Umbra and Luna a non killing zone. Its not hard to fix and would be likeable by everyone

All I do is PvP, and I have to say this is still the worst idea ever. People shouldn't be forced to pvp in these facets. People could easily run doom with pvpers and keep new players out. However, there has been discussion in the past to make factions all facets and whatnot, which I would support, simply because it would be peoples choice to do it.Draco wrote:Make Malas set with felucca ruleset. This is the only worthwhile possibility we would choose as players would have control over whether they want to get into more pvp or not. Forcing PVP into a facet that was originally non-pvp oriented we be confusing and a turn-off for many players who do not wish to constantly be in pvp mode.d. wrote: However, there has been discussion in the past to make factions all facets and whatnot, which I would support, simply because it would be peoples choice to do it.
We try our best to make felucca a rewarding facet to lure more people into it and there's still more plans for felucca in the future. As for factions, OSI has done new changes to the faction system which will will be applying at a later date and time which may lure more people into the pvp scene and factions.

This has definatlly been talked about before and wont work
I played a shard just like this where the outside of luna where the houses were was pvp the rest wasnt it was the gayest fighting ive ever done, as soon as i attack someone they run either in the house or in luna and hide, and if they cant they just teleport and run away its worse than gate fighting, its enhanced gate fighting

The only way this would happen is either or both:
1: faction pvp in all facets
2: pvp anywhere deeds
But to force it to be pvp for everyone, won't happen for reasons already mentioned.

IMO just factions as there's more to do with factions and would help breathe life into them. OSI has given factions a face lift recently as well so it would go together nicely I think.Red Squirrel wrote:The only way this would happen is either or both:

If anyone has the link so I can read the exact changes to factions I would be very interested in reading it. I would love to see factions develop more and possibly gain a slight hint of wonderful UO:Valor uniqueness (of course, when RS and Death have time =p.)Seer Death wrote:IMO just factions as there's more to do with factions and would help breathe life into them. d., somewhere in those notes is a mention of the upcoming changes to factions. They are basically offering enhanced artifacts, new potions, etc for sale for faction silver. It's not even on OSI test center yet though, so I have no clue how it will change.

Our version will not be the exact same. For ours, we're thinking of making it so that each standard OSI artifact has some kind of bonus. For example, axe of the heavens, rune beetle carapace, or heart of the lion would each have a bonus for different faction rankings.
Once you've hit that faction ranking (Say rank 3) then you would be able to purchase the rank 3 bonuses for said item (For example, say a rank 3 bonus for heart of the lion is +3 DCI for 5000 silver, then if you purchase it, your heart of the lion's stats increases, provided you stay within that rank).
Only factioners would be able to obtain these bonuses and they could only keep them if they stay in that rank (You can think of it as being similar to virtues. You have to keep them up to keep your benefits. Let them slack and you lose them).
The stackables in that publish are also a breath of fresh air.

Yep once I code in the new property system it will be very easy to do this. Properties will work as "masks" so you have a set of properties, you set the mask to an item or a mobile and it adds up the properties, the mask can then be removed at any time or have another added. In fact this would make it possible to have certain events where everyone's properties/skills are nulled, and a set mask is added.
There will be so much potential with this system. Don't expect this within the next few months though. I'm like maybe 5% done my control panel software. I want to have my web hosting up and running before I do major shard overhauls.

I agree with Brunus on this one. Stuff like ganking, repeatedly killing ppl, and shittalking turn people off from pvp. Don't dry loot them either. Remember, there is a real person on the other end too. Most ppl know that if they see me, I will at least try to kill them once in a night. But thats it, just once. I have my fun, then leave them alone. Even the newest players seem to understand and accept that concept.Gaiava Arkkaza wrote: But really, the unique thing that will improve PvP right now is a better attitude. On the other hand there are some players who rk the snot out of a new player, belittle him with insults, loot him dry, they reanimate his dead horse and run off into the sunset.

Though I will admit to doing the horse thing at least once. I was on demise in gaunt and someone died off their horse then their horse died. So I animated it, rezed him then and rode the rest of the way with it.
