ISP Tracking

I had an internet account and now want to change to a new one....my old ISP provider is angry at the decision.....is there a way they can track down my site visiting history....
if so how and what are the odds.....cause i have surfed adult sites and don't want to be caught...
please reply soon!!!!!!!

Always use an encrypted proxy connection when browsing sites you don't want anyone to know, since http is sent out as plain text!

I have one question, how old are you? Because if you are of legal age in the US((18)), then they can't do crap about you visiting porn unless it's something like child porn.

Hi , use proxies to and stay anonymous with Java/Javascript/plug-ins/flash...

1-method

Install Firewall on your machine and restrict all the connections to the Internet (except for the anonymous proxy server) from a browser. It's also recommended to use port mapping for this free anonymous proxy server and define the browser's proxy as 127.0.0.1 with the local port from port mapping.

2-method

Use socksification in your browser. This will enable relaying all the information your browser or any other software sends and transfers to the proxy server.

3º- THE Best Method

You need to set up LAN, local IP addresses (192.168.1.x or alike). A corporate proxy server should forwards ALL requests to a free anonymous proxy server (you need to have skills and rights of a system administrator in order to do that). It's impossible to connect to the Internet bypassing a corporate proxy, as long as external IP address is not assigned to local machines. It's also impossible to scan local machine's settings: even if Java/ActiveX applets detects and gives out your local IP address (192.168.1.x) to the web server, your anonymity will remain unbroken. So, basically, you can rate this option as 100% anonymity.

FORGET GHOSTSURF

I installed it And it's crap. It wont hold the proper configuration-A NITEMARE!

Then when I went to their homesite my PC got infected with a bunch of trojans & crap I'm still working on.

but just in case you did "buy" it from that link

then could ya do us a favor and remove the link to there site then so a guest or somthing doesnt visit them

I would be very weary of any program that keeps you anonymous. It's a perfect oportunity to throw in spyware and other crap. All you really need is proxies. Find a good list that is kept up to date and keep using proxies and change it every now and then.

I really doubt if it was from their site that I got the trojans & crap--------------it could have been while I was at 'various' sites trying to 'obtain' a copy.

I say this as PC Magazine highly rates it. see below. So now that I've unscrewed my PC I think I'll reinstall it & see if it works or not. I'm a glutton for punishment.

Probably way more but these are the two results in google for "proxies" and I never had to go beyond those.

I reinstalled Ghostsurf and it's working GREAT!

Evidently the 50 plus spyware items I had in my system was screwing it up--

AND I just did a clean reinstall--like--2 weeks ago.

LOL -- PLUS it has a REALLY GOOD spy catcher program.

And that's with running a firewall-anti-spyware & anti-virus

Nothing's a 100%. I use Spyware Blaster to keep most spyware from loading in the first place.

I run adaware/spybot maybe like every 6 months, only thing it usually finds is tracking cookies.

Actually this all relates to that other post about Spy Sheriff

And SpyBot was the thing that kept finding that smitfraud c where even like Trend didn't find it.

But then Trend found 26 registry entrys related to ad/spyware where the other ones didn't.

But now I tried that new Microsoft Live security scanner & it found a heap of crap.

It's an online scan.
