Pyro we're counting on you for that review. :P Not to put you under pressure or anything.

Actually I have a few article ideas I just have to get the time to write them. And I think I'll also throw in SquirrelBBS related threads in my mailing list for extra coverage for the site.

By looking at the graph, I can determine two things.

a) We've come a long way in two years.
B) April is traditionally a downspike of viewing for us based on last year's trend.

So, I'm guessing all our members wind up spending thier time outdoors during spring lol. Though I have noticed a downspike in new topics of late......

Yes we did come a long way in the range of August 04 and december 04, especially. So that'd definatly good. I need to figure out what I did then.

Articles usually do the trick though, that's the thing, I have not been releasing any so I should get back in that habbit. I can probably get us back to, or past the 250K range by releasing 2-3 articles this month. Article hit effects seem to last for a while then slowly die down but keep a steady amount of traffic in. The ndisuio.sys one for example had an effect for very long, but now it died down, but still, it gets roughly 50 views per day. (compared to like 300 when it first got out lol)

Speaking of articles....sorry I never finished that Megaman Zer 3 review. I was soooo close to finishing that review and then I got side tracked  . They're going to have a 4th one at one point though  .... . I'll try and think of an interesting article someday, filled with unique-ness of the new course I'll be taking next September no doubt ;).

Ok, after reveiwing a few reviews((that sounds odd)), I have to say something. It won't be as long as some of these super-reviews you can find on the internet. In fact, this is my very first review, so I can't gaurantee it to be great. But it will do it's job. It won't have those cool images from other reviews, but it will include some images, even if they aren't the best quality. I'm going to seriously try and finish up tonight.

the ndisuio.sys was an accident ... dumb question that buged me and couldnt find crap on turned out to be a big hit .... i should ask more dumb questions :biglaugh:

you should add mIRC or some other chat so we can brainstorm ideas for articles & share files & just plain old sit around chatting :awesome: tho it would probly sit near empty till ppl start to find it and remember its there

I'm currently in the process of creating a bbCode style editor in javascript and php. I could write a tutorial on that if you're interested. The coding is mostly finished so it shouldn't take me too long to knock out.

I could also write a summary of what I found out regarding locating users geographically. This would take a bit longer though as I haven't done any coding for it.

Hmmm, we need about 2-3 more popular things in articles.... But what....

I'll keep you guys as updated as I possibly can about the next generation consoles, but E3 is a bit away.

What sort of format do you want it in? Do you just want me to use plain text and then you add formatting later or do you want me to add formatting?

Is there a ballpark figure to aim for/not exceed for page length/number?

For formatting, plain text is ok, or just plain html. Tables etc... are fine. Any pictures should not exceed 500px in width. Can't think of anything else. Basically what I do is add any html for line breaks, and then save it as page1.htm, page2.htm etc then my article system does the rest such as format into the layout.

For lenght it really depends on how much info you want so there's not really any specific. As long as it's long enough, like 1 page or more.

Great, I should have a bit of free time tomorrow evening so I'll make a start then. I doubt I'll finish anything tomorrow but I'll certainly start.

Penultimate question: Is there a standard way to format code?

Final question (I hope): Do you add the line breaks by hand or do you use a script?

[edit]Forget that penultimate question, I've just had a look at the source html for one of the articles and it's easy enough to copy. [/edit]

I usually just add them by hand, with copy and paste.

To take a look at how it's generally formatted you can look at any article using this type of url:
http://www.iceteks.com/articles/pspreview/page1.htm

Some of the older articles may be nasty looking though since I used touse MS Frontpage. At some point in time each article was actually a completely static page so when I switched to php I just copied and pasted the existing front page generated crap.. I mean code.

Oh and you do format it with html you don't have to put the body and html tags, that's added automaticly.

I'll see if I can come up with an easier way for you to add the line breaks.

Nah that's fine. Really I could make it so the script does it by replacing
with
but it's not really a big issue.

Wow I think the psp review is going to do well, I'm already seeing lot of google searches land on it. So not only will the news mailing have an effect but google will have a big enough one as well. hopefully it makes it on warp2search.

Last time I checked it only had like 16 views. But, that was before Google grabbed it. Should do good if Google searches find it.

I'm just proofreading the first article now so it should be all done this evening. Just need to break it up into pages.

When it is finished where do you want it sent?

Ah, so THAT'S why people always use name(at)site(dot)com instead of name@site.com((let the bots pick that up)).

Yeah pretty much. But I have a feeling lot of them are getting smart and picking up stuff like reportcrime at fbi dot gov (little trap ;)) but seperating letters is probably somewhat effective.
