The PSP
Well, here it is. A week before the America release of the PSP.
I want to see some discussions, maybe a PSP vs DS debate. I love those.
The DS is NOTHING but a quick competition for the PSP because Nintendo doesn't want to lose the only thing they dominate anymore to someone who has royally PWNed them. Here's a little history lesson:
Ok, here it is, sometime around 1989. The SNES currently leads the gaming industry. Along comes Sony, who together with Nintendo, are working on an attachment for the SNES, called the Superdisc. Well, for reasons I don't know((but obviously good)), Sony dropped Nintendo and began working solo. In 1991 they released a system titled the Play Station. Yes, I said 1991. It used the Superdisc and a port for SNES cartridges. In '94 Sony released another system, the PSX, which dropped the SNES port and focused on the compact discs.
Now, not only did Sony drop Nintendo, continue working on the project alone, AND put out a project they made millions off of, they ALSO beat Nintendo in their own line of business. Now, I'm sure you'd be mad if someone did that to you.
The one thing Nintendo has ALWAYS dominated at was handheld gaming. No one has been able to beat them. Then they get a sniff at a project by their biggest rival, a handheld titled the PSP((Playstation Portable)). Sony is trying to knock Nintendo off the block all together! That's when they set out to make the DS.
Sorry Nintendo, I firmly believe Sony has officially killed you. Nice try, though.
Oh, and BTW, when I get my PSP next Thursday, I'm going to be on it forever. Then I'm writing a review for it, might you want it, Red?

Cool stuff, yeah a review would be great! Need more content here bad, my latest articles target a smaller audience and get less hits, but this is fairly big so it would get a good ammount of hits.

Yeah, with all the hype surrounding the PSP.
Only like 8 more days!!!
w00t. I'll make sure to write something long and detailed. I have about 3 other forums that want the review. I'm so 1337.

I wouldn't say the DS is just quick competition for th PSP to try to hold onto the market. Nintendo has always been about gameplay, at least that's their mantra right now. I would say the DS is an honest attempt to innovate and improve gameplay from a harware prospective. How well they'll come off in the long run is anyone's guess. We all saw what happened last time nintendo made a big leap like that... Virtual Boy. And if you've never heard of it, you just proved my point.
I'm not counting Nintendo out yet, but they are on the decline. When the console market was all game companies, that was one thing, now it's dominated by the same companies that write your OS and make your TV. Gaint companies that have a tremendous influence on gaming even if they didn't have consoles out. There's still room for Nintendo to make a comback, but it seems unlikey. They will loose the handheld market eventually, as nowadays cells phones pose a big of a threat as the PSP does.

No, cell phone companies put out worse handhelds than Nintendo does. crap like the N-GAGE doesn't threaten the DS in the least.manadren wrote: I wouldn't say the DS is just quick competition for th PSP to try to hold onto the market. If Nintendo were smart, they'd stop competing and try to team up with Sony. That would probably be a badass team.
Now I'm off to Photoshop to solve everyone's problem.

Admittedly the N-Gage is crappy, but that's not what I'm talking about. The issue here is why lug around a handheld when you're already taking your cell phone? The quality isn't that good yet, but you don't exaclty need GTA or Halo while your waiting at the atm. The main reason the Game Boy took off in the first place was because of Tetris. And there are plenty of tetris clones on cells already, and you don't need an ultra spiffy high color screen to play that.
Worse comes to worst for nintendo, I don't think teaming up with Sony would be the best idea. I think they should go the Sega route and focus on making games for all platforms.

Well, not to fear! I have yet again solved a problem!
I have found that no one seems to be able to agree. It's always one way or the other. I've seen a few that liked both systems, but not alot of people. So here is my solution, the DSP Prototype V.1. The Dual-Screen Playstation((and DSP I think sounds better than DSPS)).
This is just a prototype, a beta version. I was just playing around to see if I could do it. I will probably do it again and make it better. Like shaving off all of the stuff from the top PSP BEFORE twisting it around and stuff((it will be easier if it is perfectly aligned, I can then work easier)). (Y)
EDIT: After thinking for a while, I decided to wait until I get my PSP to make V.2. The reason being is I need two pictures of the PSP at the perfect angle. As you can see, that is not accomplished in V.1.

Yeah, I guess you can imagine the top portion pretty flat because it's just a screen?

Cool you look pretty happy.
Whenever you can write the review that will be sweet, should get plenty of coverage given this is a pretty big product release.

Oh so you only got the pack but not the system itself, I see. So it makes you even more hyped up and can't wait to get it, I bet. I'm sure you'll get nightmares that it get's prosponed to another month due to a glitch found in the operating system.

I haven't bought any games yet. So all I have is a couple songs, Spiderman 2 the movie, and a demo disc((which I've already viewed everything so I don't care)).
Let me tell you this, it's amazing. The review, is going to take a while if I want to talk about everything. But first I want to atleast do a network play, maybe on Twisted Metal.
Off to watch SM 2.... I guess.

And today I'm getting Twisted Metal Head On so the review is ever so closer.
I'm thinking about adding images and such to the review. And maybe making it like a story, starting out explaining what's going on and such. Make it more interesting for the reader. I know I enjoy reading how exciting everything is, reading what's going on.

Well, as soon as I get the perfect light to get pictures of it without screwing up, I'll maybe post some of the pictures that will be in the review. My webcam has a blue and red light on it, so that screws it up, with my digi there isn't enough light, and with the flash the screen is glared. Badly glared. I'll figure it out, though. I'm an ace photo-agrapher, after-all.
Yes, I know it's "photographer".

well i will be waiting for the review cuz im a big sony fan (not really )
i kinda follow Square-ENUX/Soft more then sony itself and im not to happy about having to give my money to sony again so i can play final fantasy 7 somthing on PSP cuz sony has ripped me off big time
final fantasy 7 AC is gonna be DVD possibly a psp game so im waiting for that
anyways what im wondering is are most of the games on PSP just ported from psx/ps2 like with lil to no change
ive blow over 2000$ on just sonys systems and i mean thats just for the psx/ps2 itself not counting buying sony accesseries just for somthing or some dumb butt to happen to it and no help from sony to repair or replace it even well it was under warranty
heres my system list n try and convince me i should buy a PSP
PS1=250$ thrown down 2 sets of stairs by my mom cuz i was playing for like 50 hours non stop ... i fixed it then a few month later it just stoped working
PS1=250$ i replaced the first one just to have my dumbass lil brothers jump on the new one and break it
PS2=512$ got it the day it came out and 2 months down the road it wouldnt read any CD and sony would not help fix/repair so i had to void my warranty to fix it myself .. month later my dad droped it and it wouldnt work
PS2=512$ AGAIN .. well this one was droped in the store by the fucken guy and guess what? it was making a but load of noise and stoped working ... hmm warrantys still good? cant replace it? ok i buy another
PS2=300$ YAY price drop ... all was good with this one till i went camping with red squirrel aka ryan and kyle ... got back from camp and my mom says it wasnt working right and i knew what was wrong with it and i could of fixed it but noone wanted to be in crap so thay let the dumbest guy in the world "try" to fix it ... needless to say he failed he void the warranty ,broke alot of parts inside, cut wires and lost an assload of skrews... not repairable anymore (thanks ) i could kill him
PS2=250$ YAY another price drop but noone is allowed to even tuch this one cuz its still working
thats not counting cash spent on games & accesseries
remember games are 80 bux a pop n i always get em brand new and accesseries are normally 40 to 300 depending on what your getting
i dont meant to bash the psp .. just sony in general and if most games on psp are the same as ps2/ps1 i refuse to buy the psp & games again unless the review is top notch lol if an FF7 game is released on it then mabey i will after i try it
anyways good luck on the review and i will be one looking forward to it
