This is a world record, 302KB/sec, or 2.4Mbps! That's only 0.1 less then half of the advertised speed, that means my download was almost downloading at half the advertised speed! That's a speed record right there, they must of fixed something.

Honk if you love Jesus, text if you want to meet Him!
Firefox, I was just downloading the daily access log from the site. It took like 5 minutes to actually respond to my click though but once it started it was super fast (for sympatico).

Thats about my continuouse download speed maybe a little more usually sit around 300 to 320 K/bs but of course it starts out a lot higher... Sympatico for me works a lot better than my local cable company.. Been very very reliable also, only been down for about 4 hours last year that I knew about.

well red it may be hard to belive but sypatico is way more reliable then cable (i find anyways) cuz ive had both and my cable would only work for like the first 3 days of the month at best then cap at 10kb's max down speed

Well the problem I'd have with cable is the low limits on it. at least sympatico is unlimited so I can download a TB per day if I want. (and if it stays up long enough lol) But they're slowly starting to get better, but I should not jinks it just yet.

Hey, maybe my claim will force them to get their butts in gear. Wouldn't it be sweet if they updated their service to 80 mbps after my letter? . What are they running at right now anyways? Feels like 10 mbps .

I'm supposed to get 4Mbps, fastest I've seen is 3-3.5Mbps or so. 320-400+Kb/s is something I get all the time Well, my wife gets it when she is downloading Japanese media using BitTorrent... And I don't have a limit
Of course, I'm using Comcast cable in the US, and its grossly overpriced.

No download limits here which is nice... Well the biggest factor on which is better cable or your phone company comes down to location.. Thats if they both have a good internet infrastructure in place.. I've found sympatico to be about 25% faster for downloads and 100 % faster for uploads then when I had cable.. I also found that speeds varied alot during the time I was with cable.. Now i've been to other peoples homes and they have not had any real problems with their cable internet... Funny thing is everytime I go and work on someones computer I do an internet speed test for curiosity sakes and I haven't found a cable subscriber in my area that gets close to what i'm getting all the time. Not sure why but I did get a speed upgrade from bell about 8 months ago and that went without a hitch..

Yeah maybe it will work.
Hmm I just thought of something cool, imagine a weather report for data conectivity.
