Keyboard Problems (XP)

Post by Fuzzy_Fox »

My friend got windows XP installed on her P2 (I blame a dumb boyfriend for that :P). Her keyboard suddenly stoped working, I'm pretty sure it was working while XP was on though. It's one of thos keyboards with the shortcuts for internet related buttons. Does she need a new driver or something?

The whole keyboard won't work, or just the buttons? You need to install the drivers for the special buttons to work, but the normal keys should work...

Ya, for the special buttons on the top, you need to install a driver or they won't work. For some keyboards (such as bilingual ones) you also need to switch the layout from STANDARD to FRENCH. I don't think you'll need to do that though. What kind of keyboard is it? If it's an HP, you can probably get the drivers off of their site if you need them.

I knew I forgot a few things. The lights turn on on start up, but all the keys don't work. I'll try and ask what kind it is.

It's a Packard Bell and it has three buttons on the top right corner: Power off, Sleep, and Internet (I think). In the meantime we've been using that "10,000 smilleys" thing for msn in stead of words. Has anyone heard anything bad about it?
