I used thunderbird which was decent, but plain. Foxmail is good too but it has the tendancy to let mail on the server and not retrieve it.
Though right now I'm using a web based system (squirrelmail, ironicly ) on my LAN server, works great.
What's great is the fact that all configuration is on the server and not on the workstation, so if I format I don't even have to think about backing up email, It's all stored on the server. Sort of like having a gmail account with root access to the server.
