hmm I don't use yahoo but I assume those buttons call up some kind of javascript, check your browser settings to make sure javascript is enabled and working properly.

...and welcome to the forum.

On Firefox 0.9 (Gecko/20040617), Opera 7.54, and Internet Explorer 6, I don’t have those problems. What browser do you use?

Yes, you should check your JavaScript settings like Red said. If you don’t know where the settings are, tell me what browser you use, and then I will give you instructions. :)

I have the exact problem that newbie reported, where the reply and forward buttons on my yahoo mail don't work. I thought it mught be one of my security settings but I wasn't sure which.

Can someone please give me instructions on how to change the java settings for IE, version 6 so that I can reply and forward?

thanks
Ig

this appears to be a hit and miss bug.

but it seems to be related to the new information bar in ie. so click on that when it pops up and read its help to see how to shut it off.

no garruntee it will work. as i followed the instructions and it seemed to work but then it started poping back up???

last spring MS announced there was a big security hole in ie they could not fix until the new version 7 which was going to be a complete new rewrite of the ie browser code.

and they advised us to get a different browser if we had trouble or would be worried about hackers. :handintest:

I got both firefox and Maxthon so far everything i use online works in maxthon just not like it did in ie, but it all does not work in firefox which is no surprise since that is the old netscape reworked. i had trouble with that way back when. seems like it still is not working for me. :banghead:

maxthon has tab browseing :D

:awesome:

Yahoo mail works for me in Firefox 1.0 PR, so that ain't it.
I'd try a browser that doesn't use the IE engine, like Firefox or Opera, to see if it's with the browser settings.
If it doesn't work with any other browsers, the next thing that comes to mind is: do you have a firewall? It sounds farfetched, but some firewalls block certain browser features like javascript

For the sake of being stubborn about these sort of things, I want to clarify two things:
1. Firefox has tabbed browsing too :P
2. Firefox uses an upgraded Gecko engine, which was used in Netscape 6 and up. Not that old an engine :P

Hi All,

I have the same problem as "Newbie" had. My yahoo reply, forward buttons are not working. As suggested for Newbie I checked for javascripts and all seems to be enabled. I use Netscape 7.1 and also have Zonealarm pro 04.

any help would be great.

Thanks.

With Zone Alarm, do you have the Block PopUps/PopUnders option on? try disabling it and then trying the mailbox.

I too am having the Yahoo! Mail problem... with Firefox 1.0. It just suddenly stopped letting me hit Reply. Javascript and Java are enabled, and YM had worked fine for weeks.
