Runic bow crafting kits

Post by Tom »

I know you said you are working on a bod system for them but what about having them as a drop. Elven treefellows. Like a pine treefellow having a rare chance to drop a pine bow kit with one use on it. That way the higher the wood type the harder the monster is to kill. So a blackbark tree would be a lot tougher than an oak. The kit would only have 1 use so would not be real valuable but fun to collect. You could possible code a runic box that allows you to add the kits to it to increase the number of charges when you take them out of the box. So 5 kits added to box gives on kit 5 charges when you take it out. Great storage idea and would reduce the number of items in the world. Make tool kit boxes for different things like saws, shovels.... then you have one storage box that would help in training skills. For mining you buy or make 100's of shovels then save them in boxes till you use them. This way you just dump it in box then take the one shovel with you with a few K uses on it.
Just an idea

actually I wanted to add special types of "elementals" just like with mining, but they would be treefellows, this is actually a good idea and I could integrate this into it.

Make em wood nymphs. They pop out of trees and look like changelings that summon treefellows on you.

Hmm could have em drop something special which you give to a quester which then gives you a chance of runic kit. killing one of those trees would be part of a quest.

They could be set up something like the Sheriff in Malas. You kill a mob and get "x" item. You give that item to the quest-giver and you get gold and a chance at getting a random runic.

They could give you runic axes that give you a greater chance of getting special woods...

I was thinking of a gargoyle axe gotten from a quest, spawns tree elementals and they'd have a chance to drop something which can possibly get you a runic kit when you return it to a quester. I'd make the quest long enough to make it hard to get, but not as hard (and boring) as bods.

Gargoyles actually were possessed by Blackthorn and enhanced with stone, thus the whole Gargoyle Pickaxes thing. Really, the Pickaxes are evil. : D

But a "Treefellow Axe" seems kinda gay too, as does "A Reaper Axe".

Oh. Wait. Reaper Axe sounds kinda cool. Executioner's Axe FTW.

I still have accounts there and chars. I just like the other server alot. You know I cant pvp myself out of a wet paper bag with razors tied to every part of my body. The other one has about 60 quests and yard deco tool. I am making a pier and a graveyard on opposite sides of my house there. It is cool you know kind of a change been playing OSI style since 1998. I was burnt out. This is cool lets me make one char with unlimited skill points. I am a necro, pally, ninja, sam, spellweaving warrior mage. It is fun. I will be back I am almost sure of that. :) Maybe I will pop in Team speak this week or next. Think I am taking my wives and 6 sons to the Omaha Zoo this weekend.

Super custom shards like that can be fun, but from what other people say, you get bored faster then OSI style. But they can be fun for a total change of things sometimes.
