No More Hacks

I've had it with 1/10 IB mods that actually work. I won't be installing anymore, the only hacks I'll do are those I program myself, I did not realize, but I can probably program better code then most of the people who submit mods.

I just tried to install some news export mod, and it was stupidly programed, it required me to completly replace a file instead of editing it, so everything else on the home page was going wacko, like the 10 last topic and all that was screwed up. So I put it back how it was and the damage is permanent. Now the home page has NOTHING on it because the top 10 post won't work, the news and last articles were removed since the new mod was suppost to work.

What a mess.

I just had to get it out of my system

I just went to the forums to ask what could be done, but I have a feeling not much. I have a feeling even if I do restore the last backup, it will still be slow. It somehow messed up some files or something.

Not at A/F... but from what megaspaz said it seems it was my fault it messed up the top... I think this mod might of been malicious code or something, I usually don't bother checking these things as I usually figure that it should be safe at the site it comes from. Since we're on the same server, it's possible for a script to access other sites, assuming the path is known, this script probably messed up some files at A/F as well as here. Sorry everyone!

I don't consider it to be your fault. I am not putting the blame on anyone, really.

Even if you did it, I am sure you didn't do it on purpose, so it's all good.....

It turns out magic was trying to edit something... at least I know it was not my mod that did it. He fixed it now.

It could have an effect as we're on the same server, but the thing is, the script would have to have the full path, so if it would of been that, it would of obviously been a malicious one that checks for paths and stuff. but in this case it was only a coincidence.

I just noticed a section I forgot to skin

when you click on a profile and click "view all post by this member". I can't find it eather...

I don't think anyone was upset at anyone else. However, I think we were upset about the errors....
