Hello there, this is Drake_the_Admin. I was previously MrFixit's assistant on the original uogateway. It's nice to see someone trying to breathe life back into the UO community. I wish Dan was here to see it.

Just as a side note - Red Squirrel... weren't you one of the mods back on the original uog?

Nice to see you!  I don't recall being a mod there but  I may have posted on the UOG forums at one point. Tbh I never used the tool that much, but it was the tool I used to login to my first UO shard ever, so it does hold a special nostalgic place for me because of that.

Yeah I recognise the username is all - I remember you being pretty active.

Did anyone find out what actually happened to Dan? I used to talk to him all the time, then he just stopped Emailing back one day. Never heard from him again after that.

Really not sure.  I did not really known him very well.  From what I gather the domain was just let to expire.  Hopefully it's nothing bad that happened, but definitely odd he kinda vanished with no warning.  Did he ever give any indication he was not interested in it anymore?


Also out of curiosity I checked internet archive, never even thought of checking this before, but there's plenty of records of the old uogateway:
