October 16 2011 - Network Outage [complete]

On Sunday, October 16th, 2011 at 2:00AM EDT (06:00 GMT) our host, Carat
Networks, will be performing upgrades on the core routing equipment.
The upgrade is to resolve an ongoing issue many have noticed with
intermittent packet loss and variable speed issues. I am hoping this will resolve all lag, though I do suspect some lag may be server load related. We'll see.

During the upgrade, all services will be unavailable. We expect the
upgrade to take no more than 30 minutes.

I was meaning to bump this as a reminder and forgot.

The outage now appears to be over. We'll be able to see if the lag was server or network related now.

I haven't noticed any changes to my lag so far, and I have very bag ping.
