While being oh so bored today, I happened to remember this game and immediately set out to re-obtain it.
I can't wait to play again.
I just have one question: what version of the game do all of the uogateway servers run? Is it with that new Abyss expansion? Is there a certain version or patch I need to get? I've downloaded the client off of the website and autopatched which brings me up to AoS which I believe is some 1-3 expansions behind, correct?

Question on Expansion
Question on Expansion
It all depends on the server really. It's more of a flavor chosen by the owner of the shards. Some shards are running pre-aos stuff, preferring to stay within a certain "classic" timeframe of UO.moniko wrote:While being oh so bored today, I happened to remember this game and immediately set out to re-obtain it.

Others are running UOML and beyond, with a lot of special "custom" content.
Although, you do bring up a good point of not really being able to know, right away, what kind of server the owner is running. Something we could implement to increase usability.
In short: The requirements are set by the actual shard. Some shards will allow you to patch all the way to the current OSI client patch while others have a very specific patch they are running or they may also require you to download their "custom" files.
Your best bet is to head to the shard's website if you are interested in playing on their shard. They will have instructions on how to join and what client patch and any custom files you may require.
