Dryads

Ok so i finally got me some reaper axes and start a hacking. a Heartwood dryad spawns and I wail on it. Alls said and done. 25 Heartwood :-/

Now thats like a serious rip off, you walk away from a Val ele with 25 val ORE if your GM or better and smelt 1 at a time that usually 40-50 Val Ingots.

Now that said Consider this:
An Elemental spawns 25x what you get with 1 pick hit (not in fel)
A Dryad drops 2.5 times what you get with 1 axe chop.

Add in the fact that log->boards is 1:1 and Ore->Ingots 1:2

Now thats some serious differential. I mean if we are going to bother with Dryads there needs to be equivilent or near equivilent gain. Equivilent in amount of gather strikes would be 400-500. Now that maybe a bit much I'll admit, but shouldn't we be getting at least 50-100 wood off each? I mean just something a bit more, because 25 is what you can pull off a colored tree without a dryad spawn.

We forgot to factor in the fact that ore smelted creates more ingots so I get what you're saying. We can have them drop double the logs, if not more.

Ya the double logs would be nice, more would seem a bit more fair it because it seems its so much easier to get higher levels of ore. I mean with mining you have Propect Tool + Garg so you can raise ore quality 2 levels. And you can fish around for veins of stuff and it only pulls 1-4 ore of the max possible( 2-4 hits depending on tram or fel).

So i find an Aga vein and can pull 1 one then propect it and mine with Garg pick, now Im mining Val and pulling probably 1 Val ele if not 2 by the time I'm done. Now if its a good full vein i can pull 10-24 or so val ore from the Vein plus the eles that 25-50 val ok so from that one vein i can pull ~35-74 Val ore?? (I actually found 2 today and pulled 36 and 74 out)

Ok so how does Frostwood stack up? Ive found three frost wood trees today. I'm in Fel so im pullin Double. 2 of the Trees I got lucky on the first swing i found frostwood so i pulled out my reaper axe to chop the rest. 0 Dryads. ok thats fine I pulled a total 110 frostwood out of the trees.

Now heres the problem. I was mining for about an Hour. I've been chopping for 4. And I've ended up with about the same amount of frostwood as Val?

And please dont tell me its bad luck again. I keep getting told that :-/ its gotten old cuz my "luck" at pullin arties and my "luck" at getting runics when I do quests and my "luck" in general isnt bad. Only when it comes to reasource gathering do i seem to have real problems.

(I'm sorry if I sound like im bitchin in that last part, I really dont mean to be, but some times hearin thats just bad luck, gets ta ya)

They wont listen. I pointed the SAME thing out about the 3 chops per tree and how that ruins gathering colored boards.

They basically told me to stfu and keep gathering . . . and that is why I don't do bowyer quests anymore :/

Actually I should make it so 1 log makes 2 boards. Makes sense really. and 1 log should make like 50 kindling. At least IRL when I make kindling I can get a good 50+ from half decent sized pine tree log, if its nice and dry. Man have not done that in years, miss camping.

Also prefer 1 chop = 1 log. And 1 chop only takes one chop, not 1-3.

Then reapers axes would be worthwhile so you get nymphs with 25 or so logs at the cost of 2 or whatever logs vs now where you get a nymph that costs 20 logs :/

Pine tree logs take forever to dry out and can be hard to start on fire. I do like all the pops and flares you get as the sticky sap heats up and catches on fire.
