need a new program
Okay anyone know of any New programs that do what Iconoid does.
some update from ms has messed up iconiod and i can't get it working properly.
i've sent to the developer of iconoid and asked if there was any new
updates on the way. and told him what it was doing.
but he said it should not do that and i should put the settings the same
way i already have them.
i stopped emails with him on that remark.
and i've uninstalled and reinstalled iconoid but just can't get it to work
like it used to do.
so i'm now here and looking for any new iconoid replacement programs that
will work on windows Xp pro Sp3

What is it you use it for?
Hide icons? Very simple and does not run in background. Runs 2 sec to do it's task then closes.
Windows+D (Windows key next to ALT and CTRL) Hides/restores open windows like firefox/msn etc,etc (Try it while looking at this post)
Color can be done in the appearance menu. (Right click desktop>Properties>Apearance> Choose a theme or go advanced for the one setting.
For real all these "time savors" you use end up slowing the pc down costing more time for other things if these programs weren't hogging resources by running in the background... Manual clicks would take less time for the very few times it's needed or memorize a helpful shortcut instead of bogging the PC down
CTRL+ALT+Delete...>processes>Bottom right corner, ## running?
(No cheating. ##'s as you read this post don't shut any down. )

need a new program
its used to hide them but its used to keep them in postions out
of the grid postions if you want too and used to keep them
in the order of where you want them in the grid if you want
them lined up but in different locations on the screen. or if you want to
change color behind the text or if you should want to change fonts.
its just a tweaking program for your desktop icons.
i did find a site that said it was a new one for iconoid 2011 so i contacted
the author of the iconoid and told him about it. he said it's not him he has
no idea what that site is about.
i checked the site out a little more and found it to be a GOTTGA !! SITE
as in if you want to download the program from them you got to get adverts from
them when they want to send them too you and you got to let them download
software to your computer to let them gather stuff.
its not the site for me.
but that is what iconoid does. the real version is found at majorgeeks.com and is version 3.8.6.
but i can't get it to work right anymore.

need a new program
still have not found a replacement that suits what i wanted.
but i have found a few programs that might be messing with iconoid.
1. startup monitor from ms. if it is allowed to run all the time at system start up.
and not just when installing programs.
2. possibly the ati ccc program if it is outdated.
those seem to be things that were messing with iconoid.
must be another one though as not iconoid won't show its system tray icon.?
but it is running.
