Moved my backup drive dock to my computer desk and it just connects through the patch panel, to the server via cat5. First time I try something like that so I was scared it would not work, but it works great. The server picked up the drive right away as usual and I have a job running now.
It will hopefully make me do the rotation more often. I've had the same drive in there for like a month.
