Pearls: Silver Serpents and Ancient Wyrms
Blazing Inferno: Fire mobs
Piercing Frostbite: Cold mobs
Conflagrant Arrow: Lower level fire mobs
Captured Mage Soul: Mage set (the evil mages and lords) and Ethereal Warriors
Captured Light Soul: Ethereal Warriors and Wisps
Guiding Light: Wisps and other shiney mobs
Totem of Eradication: Undead mobs (apposed slayer group, unless it's random slayer, then on all mobs that have a slayer weaknesses)
Scrolls: Either specifically on the Mage set like above or spell casting mobs
Potion of Repair: Beetle family

For the hit spells, was planning to make them spawn on supreme creatures of that type (So a supreme creature of fire would drop blazing inferno for example). These would drop a random amount of them (So not just 1, could be 1 to 7 or something). They'll of course also drop on peerless. Bringing them to low level spawns hasn't been planned yet. If they do come to lesser creatures, the chances will be really really low.

Captured mage soul: Yes, it will spawn on certain mage creatures (The really powerful ones).

Captured light soul: Will be fey.

Guiding light: Peerless only
Chunk of Myridium: Peerless only
Totem of eradication: Peerless only
Scrolls of knowledge: Peerless only

Mage scrolls: Originally planned for peerless bosses. The point system for those will likely be brought down as well. Could possibly bring it to mage mobs but with a really low chance.

Potion of Repair: Actually spawn right now in certain town stealable chests. Did not mention it as 2 other resources will be released in the game soon and was going to mention all 3 in one post. I like the beetle idea though, gave me an idea.

The idea was a combination of player suggestions and sudden brilliant idea that popped into my head.

its spellcrafting .. its been out for years now.. its killing high hp red mage npcs for a chance of getting magic jewels (diamonds) which are used with a spellcrafting book where u insert spells by killing the npc and also looting the ability.

you apply the craft using alchemy/inscribe and depending on your skill it can be from say hit fireball... you could get prolly 25-70% hit fireball its just a random inbetween number if you craft it successful.. if you fail you dont lose the jewel but u have a chance at losing the weapon.. the more stats you have the harder to apply the craft. one shard i played which had 420 max skill cap per skill i had 420 alchy n scribe and crafted a mace... 99%ssi, 120% hit lightning, self repair 55.. it was one of the best maces on the shard and considering resist cap was 90 it was hard to kill people but when reciving a bless from a 420eval/mage my dex could reach into the 500's-600's so swining with divine fury made it insta swings so 100 lightnings and mace hits would go off like at once i broke so many peoples armor.. *sigh*.

yet than again jewels on there were hard to get it was like the chaos steed on here, spawned in ishner random with a 5000 tile radius and only dropped 1-5 jewels one spawn per month so it wasnt easy getting uber weapons and armor from jewels but when you got it.. man it was leet. lol

that shard was iron maiden, awesome shard prolly the best i played too bad the host had irl problems this was pre the latest runuo and all that and pre ML also. he was just learning about samurai stuff when it had to be taken down.

but yeah it basically works like that, totally diff system , been around forever.

i like this one better.
