Ok I am 30 and my mom is still trying to control my life...does anyone else have a problem like this, because I am really getting fed up

every pre-teen/teenager thinks they're parents are controlling their lives...and rightfully so. the parents should be guiding you, and it shouldn't be subtle at all.

Was it rough at first? I know I need to take a stand but I guess I am afraid of losing her and not having a relationship at all, but she is really starting to get to me..

well if they don't live in the same house, it can't really be easy for them to control your life, so just don't let them do it. I find after 18/19 parants should stop, unless of course the kid is still immature etc... My prom party is a good example, if I would of been 13 or maybe even 16, I doubt they would of let me go because there was drinking. If they would of, they would of been calling every 30 minutes to make sure I'm not drinking etc...

But since I'm 18 they let me go and knew I was responsible enough not to drink

...lots.

But at 30... and you're married and mature (I think...

) so there's no reason they should be controling your life.

That's true.. in that case then yes the parants should try and stabalize them somehow especially if they do things like break the law.

I'd say that it's wrong and that if they don't stop I'll report them, and it would be a tough decision, but I probably would report them. But depending on the parants that would probably not always work since the parants could then threaten back, especially if it's in a country where guns are legal.

On a more serious note...I would just leave it alone. Their grown adults, it's their choice if they want to toke or not. jmo
