just got this fixed on my system
the system has 3 hd's on one raid card.
two on the mb slots.
the system could not find the hd's on the raid card?
all was working proper when checked in windows.
the raid card was found.
it even showed something was on the gray cable but it did not know what.
the hds' on the mb, were the first and last in the alphabit order.
C drive and G drive, so since xp starts and lines up or changes the drive letters to match what it finds. i knew something was strange and as said everything was in proper working order no conflicts.
it was strange and took some time to find out the cause, because i thought it might be a power issue?
it was not a power issue.
the trouble was caused by the mb bios messing up some place,
the fix was fairly simple it was to re-load the bios with the optimized settings and
that showed the hd's and got the system up and running again.
just wanted to let others with the same trouble know what i did so i hope this post helps some one if they need it.
