Just Got My Server Rack
Just assembled it, tomorrow I'll actually anchor it to the ground in it's proper location. My next goal is to convert my main server to rackmount, and get a decent 24 port gigabit switch. A managed one would be nice, but they arn't cheap so I'll probably go for non managed for now.

It will basically be part of the structure. At some point it will just be drywall or what not over it. Lot of insulation too so the heat does not go straight up. I will have a hvac setup once I build the server room.

Nah it will be fully enclosed, that way I can control the air flow better. I played with it for about an hour yesterday to figure out where the best location should be, and where my server room walls will most likely go. I wanted to optimize the space for a 2nd rack, I highly doubt I will ever need a second one, but I always like to have expansion room in mind when making any kind of decision.
What I will most likely do is two walls on both sides of the rack, the ends will have a ton of receptacles spread across several circuits, and some on an inline UPS setup, all neatly labeled. No power bars, at all. I'll most likely be running a sub panel right to that room as well. The room will be fully insulated from the rest of the house, mostly for noise muffling.
My hvac system will consist of an intake vet on the ceiling, a pipe going down to the crawlspace, through a radiator, then back out either at the top in front of the rack, or just near the ground. The radiator will have cold water pumped through it. I'll either pass the water directly outside, or just to the crawlspace under my garage, which gets quite cold. In summer I'll probably have an AC unit. Right now I only have like one server and a couple switches and a router, so it's not like I'm making much heat.
