All the files on my computer are reporting a smaller size then they really are.
how do i know this? because when i download a new program it says how big it
is on the web site. but when i get it on this computer is is always smaller then
what they said it was.
also when i upload my files to my sites i have just enough space for the file
but when i try it does not upload i get the message not enough room. so i change
the page and remove some stuff then try that file again. it goes up
but the size the server reportes is larger then the size that was said for it on my computer?
what is causing this?
and what would be causing the za program to be crashed, even off line it is crashing so it can't be something from online doing it. since i cleare the cache
when i close the browser. there is nothing stored in it to do it?
this is some strange things i can not get figured out so if you can or know what is going on let me in on the knowing please.?
thanks.

Maybe somethings counting the differently. Just like HDs the manufacturers says 250 gigs but to them 1 gig = 1000 megs. In reality and the way windows counts it's 1 gig = 1024 megs. etc. So maybe your servers is counting differently or windows changed and is counting differently. That's the only thing i can think of and it seems like a long shot.

There is two sizes for files, size of the actual file, and size on disk. Size on disk is usually bigger because it is by clusters. So a 3 byte file will be 4KB if you're using 4KB clusters. Could be the site goes by the size on disk when calculating. So if you have lot of small files it can still use up space.
As for strange things happening, are you still using internet explorer? If yes you might of got hit by a hijack or something. Run an antivirus and spyware removal tool to clean it up. Some hijckaks embed themselves so much that they have to be manually removed. I had some that took a good few hours to remove. If its the case for you, you'll want to get someone else to do it maybe if you don't want to be messing with the registry and such.

Do an online scan here: CLICK
Even though I was running Kaspersky & CounterSpy, this scanner found 214
YES --214 files & registry entrys that were infected!
Needlesss to say, my flash now works again
Also, you can do the Microsoft safety center online scan, which I highly recommend.
It clears out crap files, bad registry entrys & virus/spyware crap.
If you go here: CLICK
It will download the Ewido micro scanner & update itself & scan. simple.

thanks for you links richardj.
i used the first link.
scan resluts =
absolutly nothing
2 cookies that are put on every time i get online and i keep removing them
when i get off line.
one bad idea of a joke java script that i knew about and it is harmless just makes a fake virus alert on a web page thats all it does.
one java script clock that is made to check time online.
one free online game download file that is added every time the game is played
online and removed by other programs after getting offline.
and one file called Qooloader32.exe
i think that is a Quicktime file but i got rid of it anyway since i don't use quick time much anymore.
thats it 6 files that amounts to absolutly nothing.
but that is what i kindof expected since i have two system cleaners i use, 2 ad ware programs i use. one av program which is avg whom owns that site you sent me too. and one trojan remover i use. i did not think there would be too much
because of that.
plus the fire wall has this computer completely in stealth mode.
but something is messing with the fonts? it must be the os? windows i should have known.

That Qooloader32.exe is some kind of trojan thing because it has loader in the title--there's not even anything on Google about it.
Why don't you download this registry cleaner, it's free & works great-- just delete everything it finds--it's never screwed me up yet.

thanks but i really don't think it was a trojan it might have been some query thing for open office? if it was a trojan i wonder how it got by everything i have?
according to sheilds up my system is in complete stealth mode.?
just to make sure though i did do another removeal of the system restore files
and made new ones. after i got rid of the thing? but not everything that says loader is a trojan. some programs use ligit dialups to get their auto updates.
and they are sometimes called loaders.
but like i said i cleared the system incase it was one. i already have a reg cleaner
for xp ? 3 of them and i use them all the time. and i have 2 junk files cleaners and use them along with the one from microsoft , all the time.
thats why i don't think it was one but anything could have got by if the the av did not know about it? or was on the system before i got the security programs installed.
who knows ? i'll go back later and do that scan again if it is back i'll know to start looking for the dagblasted file's reinstaller.
but i think it is gone now and nothing seems to be messed up?
