I'm applying for a job!
I'm applying for a job!
Want an honest opinion?
Are you sure?
IT SUCKS
To begin with why even make out a resume?
Most places will make you transfer the info on the resume to their application, anyway.
You have nothing, really, to put on a resume.
One thing that hits me right away is --My Objective :Work to my full ability.
Well-no kidding
Every employer expects that.
You'd be better off saying something like:
I hope to gain valuable experience working as a member of a team in a retail environment.
Then you have:
Experience
I do not have much work experience
NO-NO-NO
You never put anything in a resume that can be thought of as a negative.
Rather, take those experiences & say:
I have experience as a construction laborer & I am very mechanically inclined.
Something like that.
I still think you'd be better off just making out an application & not a resume.

I'm applying for a job!
Well. I'm assuming that you go into the store & tell them that you'd like to apply for the job.
At that point, they should just hand you the application.
But, they will want specific dates of your past employment & possibly addys & phone numbers of references
So have that info with you.
I carry my address book along when I go.
Like I said, at your age , they can't really expect that much, but always put yourself in the most positive light.
Don't minimize your talents--expound on them.
The idea is, to make them think that you are the greatest thing since swiss cheese.

Alright well I don't think there is any chance of them giving me a application seeing as how it is a cheap dollar store (no pun intended) they just opened a a few weeks ago.

I'm applying for a job!
You can go just about anywhere and ask for an application and they'll give you one, even if they aren't hiring.
Many people say that you make a better impression if you actually fill out the application in the store, this is true, but I'd recommend taking it home and bringing it back later. That way you can take you time filling it out and get familiar with the type of questions that are going to be on applications for future reference. You won't know what info to bring with you if you haven't filled out a couple of these things before.
On a side note, some places like Best Buy and Lowes allow you to apply for a job online, so you can fill it out whenever you want to. And on another side note, from personal experience, Lowes will hire just about anyone if you apply at the right time of the year (early spring). They are always hurting for people in the spring and summer, but most end up getting laid off in the fall. If you can handle some heavy lifting and working out in the sun, it's a pretty good gig.
