hide e-mail address

a friend of mine on yahoo has their e-mail address showing on their screen name on the messenger and the chat. i'm trying to figure out how to hide that part where it shows @sbcglobal.net. any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I don't use yahoo, but check under options or something there's probably a place to change your display name. At least that's how it is on MSN.

i think he means hes using yahoo and talking to someone and his friends name shows up with the email address instead of a nickname squirrel

so options are ask your buddy to give himself a nickname to remove the email addy

if he has one but its not showing then he may be on msn well you are on yahoo and thats why you can only see the email addy not the nickname

or you can swtich to windows live messenger ... basicly its msn lol

if you switch to windows live messenger you can keep your contacts and rename them to what you want cuz windows live can use yahoo contacts and msn

just click contacts at the top
go to edit a contact
select the name you want to change
go to general
type in what name you want them to show as under nickname

if you dont wanna switch then kinda like squirrel said

look for the same type of option in yahoo for there names

i dont use yahoo ethere so i cant help much more then that ><

if all your contacts are showing as email addys then theres and option somewhere to show nicknames instead lol just gotta find it
