cybervillage reset!

Post by Red Squirrel »

The cybervillage has not been used, but yet the economy is quite messed given major changes, bugs, etc... there may be other flaws but I think the major ones are fixed. So to get the ball rolling again so we can bomb each other and stuff, I've been thinking of doing a complete wipe. That means clearing out even shops, item inventories, etc... I'd make stuff cost a bit less, as the currency was inflated which made me have to set such high prices on things like manufacturing items.

So if everyone is up for this, I'll do the wipe soon.

Actually since what ICs are worth will totally change things will balance out I hope and I'll set all wallets to 1000 ICs. Robbing fines and such will remain the same, so those amounts will be considered super high, that way robbing will be much harder to do, and bigger risk then reward. Terrorist attacks will be next to impossible to do, because of how much bombs cost, and the insane fines that come out of it.

At some point when SBBS is implimented, ICs will have bigger use, such as buying extra PM space, as settings like that will be per account thanks to the group/user setting system.

I'll be up for it too. The cybervillage needs a few changes though. A WMD does way more damage, and costs less to make then an item you can buy in stores. I personally think that there should just be regular items. Half of the items aren't used. Half my pm's were "You've been bombed by mik with a WMD named Ulosesucka!". A better gambling section would be a nice addition as well. Something where the pot is not ultra uber, but gives more frequent wins of smaller amounts. I agree that one of the biggest issues was the fact that there were bugs and the economy pretty much exploded. Making things cost less and decreasing the total winnings would balance things out nicely. Bank security was also outrageously expensive so that could use a bit of a fix too. Just a couple of suggestions. Do I at least get to take an SS of my beautiful empire?

Nothing personal. Probably chose your name by random because I posted after you and it was the last name I saw. Red Squirrel would have made more sense though.

so like more details squirrel lol

PM space is a bonus but kinda usless for some members
bigger file size would be nice
so would more files per post >< its currently 1 but i would use IC's up to 10 or so
wallet and bank sizes would be a nice addition also
so max wallet size of 10k and bank 10k so to get more space fore more ic's you would have to empty yourself out a lil

never thought of attachments per post. Though think that will be unlimited. The way I plan to make it in SBBS is that you have your own personal storage space (I could make it so you can buy more space) and upload your files, then in the posts you would put something like [attachment:12345] and it would show a link to the attachment.

you mean like storage space (w/e size) on icteks for each member to just upload a bunch of files to use when posting?

i think there would be 2 things wrong with that tho

1: if a user(s) runs out of space and deletes a file(s) you will have alot of broken links in posts all over old topics

2: ppl will be using iceteks to store images and stuff for using on other forums/sites also may be a bonus tho if you water mark em with iceteks when hotlinked as its free advertising :biglaugh:

Broken links can just redirect to to a "user deleted image" page or something.

And ruin my kick ass empire? For shame. I would redo the stock system though :P. Have it fluctuate a lot more.

Yeah its based on user activity but since nobody actually uses the cybervillage anymore everything just crashed. :P Some of the code behind this system is super old too.

Reset is not really worth it since its not really used much if at all anymore

Why not remake and improove the entire village from scratch :o

It needs to be tied into forum activity more or entirely based on forum activity so the will village stay active. The more it affects the users the more it will be used <_>

HAHA Start an idea thread or somthing for a new cybervillage and mabey with all of us thinking some stuff up we can make it more usefull B)

Just thoughts tho :stir the pot:
