Crocodile Hunter died

Post by Red Squirrel »

I think it was bound to happen.. but a stingray?

http://news.ninemsn.com.au/article.aspx?id=127458

Wildlife warrior Steve Irwin was a daredevil who loved flirting with danger around deadly animals.

But after years of close shaves it was a normally harmless stingray which finally claimed his life on Monday, plunging a barb into the Crocodile Hunter's chest as he snorkelled in shallow water on the Great Barrier Reef.

The 44-year-old TV personality may have died instantly when struck by the stingray while filming a sequence for his eight-year-old daughter Bindi's new TV series, friends believe.

Wow, that sucks. As if he died. That's as shocking as the day I found out John Ritter died. But to a stingray?

he may have been a daring person but he was not stupid he did all the safty you can on the land when around the animals, what makes me mad is that people think he was careless.

you can not be careless or the croc's will get you.

they say he was wrong for having his son in the croc's area with him ?
next time you see a repeat of his show where he is in the croc area by himself. count the number of zoo employees watching the croc's and only watching the croc's.
steve was in no danger when in the crocs zone on land.
the problem was that steve was in the ocen and the only ones that can move fast in water are those that are made for living only in water.
steve had no way to move fast so even if he seen the stingray start to move which i think he did as he had fast reactions his body could not move in the water the way it did on land.

him and every one around him always said if he was going to get it. that he would get it in the ocean the least hospitable envierment for humans.

i bet i know his last thought?

" crickey that hurts "

:D

Yeah for having survived so many different creatures, and geting close to them, he definatly knew about safety.

I've only watched his show a few times wish I would have more often. All I remember is him holding a snake "and if this bites me, I have only 30 seconds to live! imagine this!" or something to that meaning. :D

Ya it's quite a shame. He'll be missed for sure. He did a lot of good for the community such as trapping snakes to milk their poisons to form anti-venoms. He did a lot of good work for the zoo's and helped get rid of crocodiles that ended up in places they shouldn't have been. I've seen a lot of his shows and even though he did daring things that most of us would never try, he was out there to show people about these dangerous creatures and to inform his viewers about them. Kind of makes you wonder whether his daughter will grow up to be like him.
