memory leak in WinXp using graphics

Mmmmm, would help to know what a child window is. Don't think I've created or destroyed any lately though.

child window is called that because it is an window opened by the main window..

best example i can think of is when you have a javascript site search engine for your web site. the search engine page loads in the ie. when you type the search for information in the text area. then click on submit the results show up in a little pop up window.

the popup window that is opened by the script is a child window.

vb programs open windows for the panels that their options are in. some games and graphic editors open options panels when you need those options for the game or your editing of the photos.

those are also child windows. they don't have any boder or header panel on the windows because the program author made it not have any.
but they are just windows like your ie browser window.

so you see you might have the memory leak and not know it.
which is because it only happens when you open a child window but if you have it open for long times as in editing properties of music files. or vidio files then the leak will cause trouble.

i installed this patch and you need to REBOOT the computer not restart it. i did the restart and it did not like that it messed up and kept restarting so i had to do a hard REboot to get it to work.

This site works great for getting around windows updates if you don't mind it getting the updates a little later (plus it works in firefox):

I prefer using Windiz updates even though tricking the validation isn't anything that breaks a sweat, heh.

I prefer using Windiz updates even though tricking the validation isn't anything that breaks a sweat, heh.

The problem is--even if you trick it & get it downloaded

some of the stuff--like IE7 & windows Defender & others won't install if you don't have a 'valid' XP.

That site you gave is cool---but when I clicked on 'pick updates'-- Firefox said it needed an unknown plugin-couldn't go any further.

I tried & I got the message--

No compatible browser can be found on your system

If their plugins won't even work--what makes me believe their updates are any good??

I did further checking and it seems the first plugin-although it appears to install--does not.

I cannot access the site with Firefox at all.
