Fishing trouble

Post by Red Squirrel »

There were five men in the Deep South who loved to fish and they
wanted to do some ice fishing.

One was a Baptist, another a Pentecostal, the third a Brethren, the
fourth a Lutheran and the fifth a member of the Salvation Army.

They had a Christian friend -- a Methodist -- up in Canada who operated a
bait shop on a frozen snow-covered lake so they took off up there.

When they arrived, they stopped at their Christian friend's bait shop and
got all their tackle.

One of them said "We're gonna need an ice auger." So they got that, and they
took off.

In about two hours, one of the five men was back at the shop and said,
"We're gonna' need four more ice augers -- one for each of us."

Well, their Methodist friend at the shop wanted to ask some questions, but
he didn't want to appear intrusive. So he sold him the picks and the man
left.

In about an hour, he was back. Said, "We're gonna need all the ice augers
you've got."

The bait man couldn't stand it any longer. "By the way," he asked, "how's
the fishing going?"

"Not very well at all," he said. "We ain't even got the boat in the water
yet."
