Hard Disk Recovery

Hi all,

I had a laptop which crashed on me and I think its had its time, however i need some of the data on the hard disk so I took it out of the laptop and bought an IDE cable that fits into my motherboard on my home PC and into the laptop hard drive.

The PC reads the hard drive alright but it wont load up into windows.
Anyone got any ideas of where to go from here?

Any help is very much appreciated.

Thanks guys.

Could be that the drive itself died or is dying, if that's the case, set it as slave and try to see if you can image it or get the data you really need.
