Will come in handy around the house and such, mostly when I need to transfer stuff to customer's PC that are unfortunate dialup users and don't own a nic, or when the nic is not working.
It's just the enclosure and I had a 60 gig drive so I put it in. Was a tight fit though... but what's nice is that I can probably hook up anything I want, like a cd-rom drive or something. Later on I want to make a battery pack for it so I don't have to haul the whole power cord with me when I bring it somewhere. A UPS battery would do well, just need to figure out how to do the 5 volts... resistor maybe?

If a 3.5" hard drive fit in, a CD-ROM drive certainly never will fit.

No I'd have to customize it... or not use the case but not sure if it would even work or not, but can't see why not. I think all it is, it's a IDE to usb converter (the chip inside) so anything IDE should work.
But I'll probably never have the need for it, but will come in handy for testing stuff. I did not bother to put the screws on the drive (it won't fit if I do, that's how tight fit it is) so it would be easy to pop it open and test something.

Something worth looking into:
A friend of mine recently built a new PC. He had a PCI card with external S-ATA and power connections. He could plug in two S-ATA drives without ever opening the case.
