Ghosts in Doom [Fixed]

Not really a bug in the normal sense, but the Ghosts in Doom are a little bit over populated. There is a ghost in each room of Doom. The pretty much render a tamer useless in there. You can't kill them, and if you die around them with a bunch of other monsters, you might as well kiss your loot goodbye. The best you can do is try to distract them with a summoned EV or lich raised from the dead if possible. I could see having a couple of ghosts in the whole dungeon, but when I run through and see one in just about every major room, it makes it a real pain.

Just figured I'd mention that.

Hmm might be the spawner thing. I'll take a look at it.

Yeah... just the ghost though. Overall, it's been pretty well balanced with the other stuff.

lol Yeah, I saw that. Exorcism should kill them IMO. Is that possible?

Or just send them to Justice Shrine. Every time one of my cams gets killed and sent there they'll have a hard time getting res'd.

Actually we thought of making exorcism kill them. In fact I could extend that to any undead maybe.

LOL I was just mentioning that to black. Give exorcism a chance to harm or kill lesser undead.

There'd have to be a paladin version too. Maybe Divine Fury grants undead slayer? Or Holy Light does increased damage veruses undead/negative karma PCs? I don't say negative karma monsters, because most things already are evil.

Actually, it would bring use to the exorcism spell so it's something to think about. Also, they are easy to avoid. You just need to stay away from them for a while and they'll vanish on their own. You might also be able to use dispel evil to keep them away from you.

From your description, ghosts aren't "evil". They're merely spirits that strayed from their once living body. So that means not all ghosts are evil, which leads me to assume Dispel Evil shouldn't work. I realise I contradict my last post, but I'm just brainstorming.

And exorcism has a use. ANYWHERE in Felucca. Ryan's already made it better.

Alright, I'll make some ghosts evil so sometimes you can dispel them :P.

What's the timing on them vanishing? My experience is that it takes up to a minute or so after they slowly chase you and your pet around (long enough for your pet to get to 1hp and die, and everything to target you).

No, not all the undeads. Just ghosts / restless souls / wraiths / spectres / shades and revenants. (They are spirits, undeads in general arent exactly spirits)

Ghosts should no longer be an issue. They vanish in about a minute. They can be warded off by using dispel evil and have a chance of being removed with the exorcism spell.
