your right red about windows and it not liking large hard drives.
but you need to use an overlay to confuse it and make it think it is just a lot of little drives.
maxtor use's one of their own for their hard drives.
but then i did not try any hard drive over 80 gb's? so not sure how the overlay system would work,
i tried to put a maxtor hard drive in this dell. it was the same type that is already in there. and the dell would not see it? as it was not formated . i wanted to format it to the ntsf of this dell. but i had to stick it in the old win98 and format it as a fat 32 so i stuck it in to the windows me computer so it could have two hard drives.
but because of that i did not think ntsf could format, atleast in this dell? but then maybe the hard drive needed that speical dell code they like to stick on all the stuff. like the ram that they use.
