My dad was asking me if I knew anything about it, and....I don't :P. So does anyone have any good or bad things to say about it?

I don’t remember liking WinMX. The selection was more limited than other peer-to-peer networks, and the downloads were less reliable as well. Mind you, I haven’t used WinMX or any other peer-to-peer software in ages, so things may have improved. Also, it was a positive review that made me try WinMX in the first place, so people obviously had better experiences than I did. :)

The problem with winmx is that there was a 10% chance that any file actually tries to connect to the "server" to start, if it did, there was a 10% chance that it starts to actually download, and then there was a 5% chance that it actually finishes. So in the end, your left with many incomplete files. not to mention the horrible queues. Too bad though since it is a decent program, the protocol just sucks. But maybe that changed, I did not use it in long.

I have not used it in a while, I'll have to try it out again.
