Q: Why did you start this project?
A: It's fun, and is a good learning experience as well, not to mention I can face the challenge of running down competition and making a better product - for free.
Q: Why did you choose the name Squirrel Bulletin Board System?
A: Squirrels are efficient, sneaky, and determined, so I fits well. Also, out of all the cool name ideas came up with this one was the most unique.
Q: What are other name ideas you came up with before doing the final decision?
A: Zeroboard, Freevision Power Board, Icemane, OpenBBS, Paramount Board, Optimum Board, Etronic Board, and some more. Most were cheesy, while some clearly broke trademark laws!
Q: Where is SquirrelBBS Made?
A: SquirrelBBS is proudly made and based in Canada.
Q: What kind of development environment is SBBS programmed in?
A: We have a pretty decent LAN setup with a php/mysql/apache server with samba and can code the board in real-time directly on the server. Beats having to upload modified files every time to see changes. The only actual client side programs we use are Winsyntax (a text editor) and Firefox to view it as changes are made.
Q: What other projects do you have other than SBBS?
A: Quite a few, which explains why I never promise any release dates. I run a local business, a tech site, and help out at a few sites with mod/admin related things. So I'm one busy guy.

A: See above.
Q: What is the most typical breed of squirrels to find in Canada?
A: That's a pretty vague question, it varies per region, but here in the North you'll find red squirrels. If you see one generously give the starving fella some food since he only has 2 months to get 10 months worth of food.
