IBMs are the worse, well at least in the olden days. I worked on an IBM that was like 80% propiatary. Need a new monitor? Well it's physicaly attached to a box that is plugged into the tower in a non standard plug - so you need to replace the whole thing, which also has your mouse, keyboard, speakers and even cd-rom drive. IBMs are probably the worst for propiatary stuff. Dell is second, but not even half as bad as IBM.
But then again if it was not for clones and horrible computer I'd be out of business.
And clone was probably not the right word I used, rather it's OEM. (basically any "Brand name" computer - they all have their ups and downs)
