Connecting my wireless ethernet ot a phone line

Post by Anonymous »

I have a wireless - G Broadband Router. The back side has the female connection made for the size of an ethernet cable. I want to know if there is anyway to connect it directly into my normal telephone wall outlet. Is there an adapter or converter that is very low in price that I can use to do this? Some kind of cable is what I am looking for.

Thanks to anyone who can help!

Connecting my wireless ethernet ot a phone line

No you can't, since the phone line and ethernet is two different interfaces. But if you need to hook it up to the phone line to get access from somewhere else, you could possibly splice the wires (you need 4 for ethernet, and there's 4 in a phone line) but this would make the phone line unusable for a phone, which needs 2 wires.

If you're trying to get internet then you need a modem, which converts the data signal to ethernet, while keeping the voice seperate so you can use the phone.
