hello~ brand new to this list and to forums!
anyone help with CDRW problems??? Please move this where ever needed. First if any of u know of a really user friendly guide for CDRW i certainly would appreciate knowing about it to print out or purchase.
Problem 1. Using Roxio program, when trying to delete a file off a CDRW disc get message "do not have administor rights to do so" or that it is a read only file and cannot be deleted. I am the administrator of this little cyber machine! and in msconfig as so.
Problem 2. Cannot overwrite a file on the RW disc and yes it is formated for drag and drop or burning.
appreciate any help possible
thanks

CDRW overwriting problems
Welcome to the forum!
If I were you I'd use a different burning program, roxio sucks and half the time it will just ruin your discs.
Nero is good, another cd program I started using is CD burner XP (http://www.cdburnerxp.se ) which is free and so far it's good. (I only used it once so far though. ).
Not sure if it supports UDF formatting of CD-RWs though, so it might not be the main solution as for drag and dropping of files to CD-RW discs.

i agree roxio does not work that good.
but since you have the cdrw formated to use for drag and drop the only program that can use it is the one that formated it..
now you will need to use that program to add remove or over write the files on the cdrw.
or get another one , or get a program that will erase the drag and drop format structer on the cdrw. which is taking up about 230 mbs of space on the cdrw.
the program i use for backing up on cdrw's or cdr's is one called cdburner xp pro. it says xp but it works on win98 and winMe and win2000 also.
it is free and can be found at snapfiles.com which use to be webattack.com
you will not beable to drag and drop to the cdrw again after erasing the structure but then you will be able to use the complete amount of the cdrw.
just use the cdburnerxp pro to burn data files to the cdrw it will be the same as backing up by drag and drop only it will be with out all the structor and you wont beable to drag and drop anymore but i think the more storage is worth the time it takes to make the data cdrw..
good luck.
