The funny thing is that's not a foul, because he got all ball before contact with the person. xDDDD

Haha Lymus that's hilarious. So all I have to do is touch the ball so then I can totally kick the opposing player's ass?

It's called playing a defender.

But yeah, Fin, it's a high kick I guess. If it was just he knee coming up, no high kick =P

Whether it's a high-kick or whatever, that is called "Dangerous Play" and is automatically a foul. If it was his knee, elbow, hand, etc, it would be no different. You can't just touch the ball and then do whatever you want to the other player. And no, it's not called Defense. Just look how extremely careful defenders are when an attacker is in the penalty box to see how you are really supposed to play.

"An indirect free kick is also awarded to the opposing team if a player,
in the opinion of the referee:
• plays in a dangerous manner"

I used to be a referee...

I typically play a defender. However, now we play a 4-3-3 form and I take up a defensive mid because I'm the only person in my FC club who can actually cross from both sides of the field.

It it's a dangerous play, then shouldn't the referee play advantage? And if the other team gets clear possession of the ball, an indirect kick would be taken from where the foul was commited.

Yes, that's correct. Although in the sig above, it seems like the player who commited the foul will get possession of the ball, and the other player is going to be carried off on a stretcher.

Hey, loose ball. Who knows? Maybe a fellow striker was nearby for a Up-Back-and-Through. =)

And if that was the case, you'd still have to stop the game for subs (both sides in case of an injury, I believe). But that's just how futbol works, I guess.
