My reply to a scammer

Post by Red Squirrel »

You know how it goes, they'll say that some of their family died and all that, and they need to hide money somewhere etc....

So I responded with this.

I'm sorry to hear about your deaths, but I'd be interested in the deal you sent me in your last email.  I happened to be doing a wiretap somewhere near your network and to save you some time I have directly traced and comfirmed your location with the federal goverment and we will send a special air force soon.  I hope you do not mind that the goverment is involved, but I feel much safer that way, as transporting a large sum of money like this can be risky, and in order to avoid problems, properly equiped autorities will be at our side during the process.  Security will be peak high, I assure you there will not be any problems.

Please have the money rolled up in pennies ready by this coming Wednesday, the air force also has a trip to do after that, thus the process must be as fast as possible to load the money.

Should make the scammer crap in his pants. LOL The whole "W.M.D.D.F. Agency Officer" pary makes no sense, but it just sounds authoritave and ads more icing to the whole thing.

You know it's generally not a good idea to reply to spam or e-scams. Why? You might ask? because if the message was sent to your e-mail randomly, you've just confirmed that the account is active and invited more spam essentially. Well done with the reply, but for the record, not always wise to send replies.

not to worry I got a pretty good filtering system. When I see that I get spam from the same host more then once I add it to the black list. It's one of the many things I use my lan server for, mass email filtering.
