You know you're from Timmins when...

You go in any other city and are amazed at how well everyone drives.

You run into a serious construction zone twice in the same year, at the same spot, and there’s a sign that says "your tax dollars at work".

You paid $3,700 for your incredible 900Mhz dell computer when you could of got one with twice the specs from someone who custom builds them for less then $1,500.

You tell your friends to meet you at a restaurant, but don't have to mention which one.

A truck putting salt on the roads and a snow plow right behind is completely normal.

You're jealous of your friend at the other end of town because they just came to clear the snow banks last week, so they're only 6 feet tall now.

There's more snow removal equipment on the streets then there are taxis in New York.

The ultimate school prank is to unplug all the busses at night, causing a school cancellation the next morning.

The center lane is for speeding up so you can pass a few transports in one shot.

To remove snow off the car, drive fast, slam brakes and hope there’s no black ice.

To remove ice from the wind chill, make a 5cm x 5cm hole with the ice scraper. It’s all you need.

You're Christmas lights stay till summer time, if they're on the house, you might as well turn them on too.

During hot summer days (+25C or higher) you go to the mall because there's air conditioning.

There are sinkholes at the golf course because it’s an old mine, and it’s completely normal for it to be a 19-hole course.

You’ve been to the gold mine tour with friends from out of town, and it’s the biggest excitement they get during their visit.

On nice –15 winter days after a storm, it’s normal to drive on a street and see people using their snow blowers at almost every second house.

The Porcupine Health Unit is downtown Timmins, and not in the porcupine area, and you don’t question this.

In some areas there are bus stops separated by 100 metre spans, for about two miles, on the highway.

To meet all your friends, go to the mall.
