I find the ads on the forum were not really giving me that much income, so I got rid of them. They'll only be in the articles and the forum archive, which is where I get the most income. This way now the CTR will be higher which means more cash per click.
Once we're big enough other ad networks might approve the site and I'll have other ads instead. CPM ads would do better on a forum. So direct ads would probably be more ideal in this case so I'll have to put a section to buy adspace for that. Even the UD ad on top, that's just there for now in hopes people actually join our UD team, but later on more ads will go there and rotate.

1 cent per click
The money comes out of the advertising budget and goes in the site hosting budget.

What happens when you don't get the amount of clicks your advertiser wanted? Are you forced to give yourself free advertising to make up for it?
