Guess it should be a good thing that my XP computer doesn't have a valid license, otherwise I might be at risk of getting it

Yes, I think I will skip this as well, or at least I will for now. :)

Internet Explorer 6 SP2 has a rewritten rendering engine that is highly compliant with the latest W3C standards. No, just kidding.

Crap you got me going on that last sentance!

I'm glad I use win2k, no SP hassle. Sure there's like 4 SPs for it, but they are minor compared to the XP ones. I only bothered installing it because some program wanted me to have it. Never had problems though.

No problems here with SP2.

As for Windows 2000, yeah they are up to SP4, and most of the time there's a fair deal fixed in them, Red. But you guys have to give Microsoft a little credit for the actual effort they put in to this service pack. Who knows where it may have been if it had been delayed a little longer. And, as I've made this argument before, what happens when you upgrade to a newer version of something (especially when it's Operating System related)? Things invariably break as versions change. The result? Manufacturers create patches and whatnot to adapt thier applications. Simple as that.

Considering that any applications that got b0rked are due to security reasons, it's probably a good thing that they got b0rked.
However, until all the software companies 'catch up' to SP2, I will hold off on me XP machine (there is a trick with the activation I just found that lets you get SP2)

Yeah that's probably the best thing to do. Or you could even dual boot, one copy of XP with the SP and one without, so you can test what programs work well and what not. I'm sure some programs that got b0rked can be manually fixed with research, or that a simple download patch can be installed. Especially for huge $,1000 programs. (though allot of people like students get "discounts" <_>)

:banghead: :banghead:

aaaaaaaaaaaaggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhh

i got the dadgum sp2 and it did not fix the gif animation troubles

but it did add an information bar in explorer and popup blocker.

both of which i did not really need. as i have a popup plocker that works on all popups.

the information bar gave me an heartattack almost. it was stopping my scripts on my web pages when i was checking them offline, but on line it is not doing it so that is good.

they say in their help file for the infomation bar you can turn it off but they dont say how.

i think i got it off but that remains to be found out.

other then that so far so good.

but i am using the computer and looking like

so off to check the other stuff i do and see if it is totaly .....up :banghead:

ha got you that is not what you thought it is messed up. ha ha ha ah ah :roflmao2:

well it seems sp2 has messed up the 3d effect in outlookexpress. not much just a little

it seems to have removed a border from the creatation pad makes no top border for the text area. on replys or new messages?

looks like they will be releasing a patch for that some time? but hey what would they be doing if not fixing their software  :awesome:
