Hello,
I recently received some picture files on CD for a website project I am currently working on. The problem I am having is that 10,000 file contain invalid symbols in the names. The CD is locked so I can't just change the file names. Is there a way to copy the files via XP in a raw format? I used XCOPY in DOS, but it choked on the files also.
Thanks in Advance

Copying Files with invalid character from CD
Hmm that's odd that it even burned successfully. The only thing I can think of is making a zip file out of it and making it so it creates it on the drive, then rename them all in the zip file and extract them.. even then I'm not sure if that will work.
Another way would be to open them up from the CD with an hex editor and saving them under a different name, on the hdd.
Good luck! Hopefully there's a better more automated way though.
Oh and welcome aboad.
