I am making a website in school, and i want to add frames. I want all my links to be on the left side in frame order, and ive looked around at tutorials, and i don't understand how to do it, when i try it never appears like it should. I use dreamweaver, if anyone can help, it would be appreciated.

Ouch! I have never used frames, so I can’t help you. Until someone more experienced sees this thread, I’ll direct you to here in hopes that you will find what you need. :)

What is happening right now? Is it that the page loads in the frame? If yes you need to set your target in the <a> tag.

try joe bartons page tutor i think that old url will redirct you to it and he has a great lesson on making frames with notepad.

i learned how to do that in 3 hours or less with the lesson. i used a 3 framed page on one of my sites it had links on the left side and main page on the right and there was an adbanner page on top.

but basicly what you need is a page that has all the code for the frames set up.

then you need a page to go into the frames different ones for each frame.

if you want links on the left frame you just make all the links stay on the left of the page when you make the web page.

then you need to tell the frames what pages to load into what frame. you do that with the tags. i forget off hand how as i have not used frames in 3 years now. but find that pagetutor and you will learn fast.

The simple answer is: don't use frames!

They're evil. Everyone gets seduced by them at some point, but they;re more trouble than they're worth.
