Tomorrow is my birthday. :) Thanks for the thread. :)

Nope, I don't plan to get my licence tomorrow. I think I will wait a few days. I'm not in that much of a hurry. :)

well about that. You need to get a book and read it, so that's about a month, then you get your G1 (do the test) then you have to wait like 9 months or something to get your G2, but between that you also have to take a course where you drive with the instructor and depending on how busy he is (there's only 2 in town so they are both busy) you only get to drive once a month and you need 10 lessons. So all that takes at least a year, but there's something else once you do the road test (after the course and all that) but I forget how it works.

I exagerated a bit by saying 3 years now that I think of it, but it's at least 1 and most likely over for sure. That's here, not sure how it is where you live.

I have
a whole lot of original answers. I don't judge people. I think there are a few exceptions. Thanks for the information:
Undefined said Undefined exagerated a bit by saying 3 years now that you think of it but it's at least 1 and most likely over for sure. Are they exactly the same?

It really doesn't take that long here.
<ul><li>Take a test on a computer.</li><li>If you get less than six wrong, you get your permit.</li><li>You drive with a licensed driver for at least 50 hours spanning at least 150 days.</li><li>If you haven't done a lot of bad things, you can apply for your licence at age 16.</li><li>You take the computer test again. If you miss less than six, on to the driving test!</li><li>For under thirty minutes, you drive with an instructor. If the instructor thinks you are a good driver, you get your licence. If not, you try again some other day.</li></ul>
That seems easier then what you have to do. I have some restrictions about how many people can be in the car and when I can drive. However, if I'm a good driver that all should be gone next year. :)

Wow, nope us it's longer then that and more restrictions. with G1 I need someone else in the car, I can't drive on the big freeways like the 401 and I can't drive at night. But with G2 there's less restrictions, then after another ammount of time I get the normal license.

There are more restrictions here now than there used to be. We had way too many inexperienced drivers involved in deadly accidents.

Happy Birthday Tak!

Personally, I don't think you'll get any better at driving unless you're on the road, so don't wait too long to get your license. At least not 3 years  that's kinda messed up, red.

When I got my license I took that computer test too, but then I took a class in high school, it was kinda short though, maybe a half semester or something. Then we got the on the road sessions after school. Unfortunately I had something like an hour or 2 driving with my parents at the time, so that's where I learned most of my driving skills from ^_^'. There was 5 or 6 sessions in which you drove about an hour with some gym instructor or something. Then you took the road test. Somehow I actually passed on the first shot :P I think the instructor just wanted to get rid of me  If you passed, you could pick up your license as soon as you turned 16.

Actually the way it is, even though it takes all that time to get your license you can still drive, but under the conditions mentioned. (not alone etc)

That's one of the reasons I only get money.

People say I'm hard to shop for, and I believe them since I truly have problems shopping for myself too. Top that with not knowing what Java or a video card is...

I'm thinking of buying some books off Amazon. I know I am buying Rapid Application Development with Mozilla, and I have some books on PHP in mind...
