I can't forget my apointment again, and I'm making sure that I don't by posting reminders everywhere I can think of. I missed my last one and made the guy wait 15 minutes for nothing, I was actually lucky enough to get an apointment done for saturday since he's booked solid and I figured I'd have to wait a few months!

I drived for a bit with my mom. At first I was not used to how you don't have to press hard on the gas so it was quite rough, and same with the braking, but I was getting good fast. I can't wait to go for the lessons. I think I will be a good driver. There's lot of things to learn though, but it's mostly all common sense, and it's stuff that will eventually come naturally.
The course is optional, but it makes insurance MUCH lower and I don't have to wait as long for my G2 license (I can drive alone and at night, my current G1 only lets me drive with someone in the car and I can't between 12:00am and 6:00am)

I think you will be a good driver and driving lessons should be mandatory, I think. Maybe it would stop a lot of young people from being killed in accidents. Insurance premiums are very high here, for anyone under 25.

Yep, I think it should be mandatory too... so many accidents that can be prevented. I also think it should be required to take a test every 10 years or something. Some people forget the rules and don't realize.

I went for the lessons today, I did well. We went on the highway, in parking lots etc... I did run over a snow bank though but nothing serious. I turned a bit too much when making a right turn. I'm getting the hang of it pretty quick. After this I'll get my Nascar license. J/K

Driving itself really isn't that hard. I really only drive around the block a couple of times with my parents before I started the behind the wheel sessions at school. That's kinda where I really learned to drive unfortunately, because there was only about 5 or 6 1-hour sessions before you had to take the test. And on top of that the instructor I had took us through some really bassackward roads and stuff.
Thing is driving itself is a pretty simple procedure once you get the hang of it, and most of the laws, at least here in the states, are pretty common sense. It's just that a lot of drivers out there are complete fricken morons. Personally I don't think knowing all the exact laws and stuff doesn't matter as much. I mean a cop isn't going to pull out a tapemeasure to figure out the distance you were when you hit your signal or something like that. Stuff like that doesn't seem as important to me. I mean I never think about right of way or correct distances, and procedures when I'm driving. It's all about judging the situations as they come and making quick, safe, and logical decisions. Then again, such rules were created so there wouldn't be questions from those with poor judgement.
