Is that because of the plugin lawsuit that they lost?

Hmm intersting. But activeX is something that can cause problems anyway. But I've seen it used for good things such as housecall's trend mico virus scanner and such. Probably does have to do with that lawsuit. I find software patents are so dumb. This is one instance where I'm on Microsoft's side. They reserve the right to have and use activeX in their browser. But some guy had to go patend it so they can sue microsoft.

oh. i see.

so since some guy that maybe did not even write the program found it was not patened and so he did and is sueing ms.? so now ms is stopping active x.

sounds like that guy that goes around the web looking for un copyrighted midi files then gets a copyright on them and claims them as his own so he can sue people if they have them on their web site. he neve wrote them but he is trying to cause trouble. and he is reaking all over the place.

but most the midis are copyrighted so he is having trouble with that i wonder if him and the guy sueing ms are the same person maybe he crawled under another rock. :P

too bad we cant find that rock and smash it with a sledge hammer.

now something to think on if ms was in texas then they would not be sued as much on the little things.

cause in texas there is a law that will fine the person fileing a un nessusary lawsuit and then throw them in jail for some time to think about it.

maybe ms should move its head office down to dallas. B)

well not to nya nya nya you, but it looks like this will only affect IE users. i've seen a couple of cofirmations that this guy is only going after MS. but you can have plugins, but they can't be called to run directly by the IE browser. MS is gonna be done with the tweaked version of IE that will bypass this whole poo-nam. i also agree with red that this suit is pretty bad. but bear in mind MS is playing this stupid patent thing too. they just got a patent for having your IM tell you when someone is typing to you. here's another one.... http://yro.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=03/...&tid=155&tid=99

it won't stick, the court will eventually strip him of the patent.
