I have, or should I say had, a video conference course as my last period. We had a problem with the teacher since he did not explain well enough, he sort of neglected us etc... so we talked to the school orientor (person who takes care of courses, credits stuff like that) to see if we have an option as another course so we can drop it, but there's no other course offered at that period so we could not and the self-teach courses are full, but we decided to discuss on how we can rectify the situation, and the administration of our school would talk about it to the teacher once we establish exactly what our main problem is.
For example, he did not explain projects well enough, and did not send us any written paper telling us what to do, he hardly gave us time to copy notes etc. He got mad at me for simply asking when it’s due. …etc.
Overall he seemed like a nice guy, and he was in shape and sporty etc, we just had a problem with his teaching and somewhat disrespected him because of this, but after talking with the principal we were hopeful about fixing the situation and have a more positive attitude.
Yesterday the course got canceled with no notice why and we had mentioned that we’d like to be able to record the video conference so we can catch any missed notes, so the principal gave me money and I went to buy some cables etc as I said we’d need another composite cable for the current vcr that was just sitting there.
So today before the course started (we have 45 minutes between the 3rd and this course, it starts and finishes later then our school’s 4th period) so I started hooking up the VCR to the Polycom system, tested it out everything worked. So we waited and simply talked about him and stuff, I joked about taping all the bad things he does and put it all together on one tape and make it look like one class and possibly get him fired, we where not serious but mentioned how it could be funny. We also had the camera zoomed into this funny picture so we can see his reaction when he connects to us.
Then the principal and the orientor came in the room and closed the doors, and said they wanted to talk, in calm voice, we figured it was just to continue about yesterday and see what we can maybe do etc, then he said that will completely change. Right there I was thinking it's not something good, maybe the teacher decided he does not want to give us the course or something. Then he mentioned that the teacher was playing floor hockey yesterday, so then I figured maybe he got hurt bad, but he kept going and said after he finished playing, he felt tired, and he suddenly past away! No time to call the ambulance, he suddenly died.
We were all shocked to hear of this and also felt bad. But it's just scary that someone can die so fast like this. It thought me a good lesson to not take life for granted as it could happen to anyone, anytime. We are thinking of making a sympathy card or whatnot to send to the school he was based at.
There’s also other odd things that happened. We were support to have a quiz today and someone dreamed about it being canceled. But not canceled because of a death! And we thought of how we could not wait to see his reaction at that picture, but realized, we never will, and that while it was being drawn, he was already past away.
And this makes me realize it’s the first time someone I talk to dies, excluding my grandpa, but I was very young and the only thing I remember of him is his funeral, which must be the only thing that stayed in my mind, but I still remember being there, and not really realizing it was something bad.
Just felt like sharing this.

I think I'll be ok and get over it. But I feel bad in a way because we did not respect him well. I did not know him that well yet as it was only over the TV and not face to face like in a class room. But what's more weird is this is my first video conference course!

A sad event
it is truely sad to hear of this event.
but it is more sad to think that it would happen to someone that must have been young as he was playing floor hockey.
there is a lot of this going on down here in the states.
kids dropping in football, basket ball , base ball pratice, even happens in the pro sports seems to be a lot of hidden heart problems, most the time it is a hidden double beat that happens when in extreme sports but it can also happen doing heavy work, like shoveling snow.
you are having a hard time now red, but i have to tell you this.
You now know one of the reasons why you should never speak bad about some one. you never know what is going on in their life.
that teacher might have been having trouble with his heart doing some of the classes he was teaching and that might have caused him to lose focus on his course.
your young yet, but your getting a huge lesson, and that is "You Must Take everything in consideration before making an action."
you will get over it.
atleast you got to go to your grandda's funeral i was not allowed to go, dad said only people wearing suits could go and see grandpa, so i got my mint green easter suit on and then he said only grown men could go see him.
i did not even know he was dead i was only 3 at the time. but i have not worn a suit ever again. i wont even tuck in my shirt unless forced too.

Sorry to hear the bad news, Red. I think cowboy is right, if the heart is not functioning properly, you don't get enough oxygen to the brain. Therefore, he may have had trouble carrying out daily tasks. He probably did feel tired and never knew why. Don't beat yourself up over it. Just take it as a lesson learned. It was his time to go and no one knows when that will be. We just have to move on and do the best we can.

red
it sad that a teacher has died.
you never know .
when the man up stairs
calls you home
to end the troubles of your soul
you`ll go into the peaceful valley
and for ever more you will
walk in peace
